Explore the value of Stewardship
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Today we are faced with a challenge that calls for a shift in our thinking, so that humanity stops threatening its life-support system. We are called to assist the Earth to heal her wounds and in the process heal our own - indeed to embrace the whole of creation in all its diversity, beauty and wonder. Recognizing that sustainable development, democracy and peace are indivisible is an idea whose time has come.
The single greatest lesson the garden teaches is that our relationship to the planet need not be zero-sum, and that as long as the sun still shines and people still can plan and plant, think and do, we can, if we bother to try, find ways to provide for ourselves without diminishing the world.
There's a magical tie to the land of our home, which the heart cannot break, though the footsteps may roam.
Dr. Wayne Dyer
I believe that every right implies a responsibility; every opportunity an obligation; every possession a duty.
John D. Rockefeller, Jr.
For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.
Today, more than ever before, life must be characterized by a sense of Universal responsibility, not only nation to nation and human to human, but also human to other forms of life.

I was wondering if there is a Jane Goodall Stewardship billboard in the Chicago area?
My friend and I are big fans of both Goodall and values.com and are trying to get a picture.

Correction - stewardship is the taking care of something. The person with that responsibility is the steward.
