Values On Campus

Positive values are often learned through experience. We encourage faculty, administrators, advisors and students alike to take advantage of their campus environment and “start something.” Talk about it, teach it, practice it, and share the experience. Values.com has resources and suggestions to help you get started. If you need additional information or assistance obtaining any of our resources please contact . Please also read our usage guidelines.

For Students:

Leadership starts with action. When you embrace positive values in your own life and find ways to share them on campus you can truly “Change the World.”

Are you looking for ways to encourage your friends, or spread the word about a cause or event? Create your own billboard! Are you considering a topic or theme for a paper? Try using one of the values listed on our site. Are you a blogger, twitterer, or involved with a campus radio station or other news source? The Foundation for a Better Life and Values.com has many resources available for you to use and be inspired.

One person can make a difference! Don’t believe us? Take a look at these everyday heroes: Greg Mortenson, Albert Lexie, Team Hoyt, Carol Donald. Whether building schools in Afghanistan, or shining shoes for a cause, or raising over 100 foster children…one person can make a difference! Start big or start small, but definitely “Start Something!”

For Faculty and Administrators:

Teaching and demonstrating values in the classroom equips students with invaluable life-lessons regardless of the area of study. A creative writing assignment, a cultural exploration, a discussion of historical events or politics can incorporate, or even revolve around, positive values.

Why not launch a Values Campaign on your campus? Create your own Billboards to highlight the heroes on your campus, or to promote your campus’ core values! Perhaps play the values-based TV Spots on scoreboards at your sporting events. Or, use our billboards as screensavers on library and lab computers. Send a daily inspirational quote to your faculty and staff each morning! The Foundation for a Better Life and Values.com makes many resources available to you for use on your campus.
