In 2007, I had to choose. Face up to my responsibility or run like so many men have. I choose to endure no matter what the price was. I knew inside that I could not live with my self if I chose to walk out on my daughter. I can honestly say that this was one of the biggest blessings in my life. Although my life is far from perfect and not trouble free today, I am pushing forward to becoming a better father and man. Being a single parent is not easy. Sometimes as a father I feel the odds are stacked against me. But I know in my heart that the only hope for my daughter is to be a strong man and parent. Life is not easy. However I believe everything happens for a reason. If I had any advice for someone going down the same road I am would be this; Embrace your situation. Teach others what you know and have learned. It might be YOU that creates that ripple effect for other people to reap the benefits long after you pass.
