Your Everyday Hero: Barbara G B.

This is about my mother who is 82 years of age. She adopted me from her daughter who is my birth mother. My mother Barbara adopted me when I was only 16 months old - she was 55 years old. She didn't have to do it but she loved me enough to bring me home where I belonged. She adopted me so I wouldn't go to another family. She even raised my younger brother for a few years before she had to put him in the hands of the state because she couldn't control him any more. This woman has raised her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She has put her heart and soul on the line for her family countless times. I am a better person today because of her. I can't sit here and write this without leaving something out. There aren't enough words to say and tell what a great person she is. I could go on and on about the things she has done, but I know one thing she never lost love for any of her children, family, or friends even though some of them have done her wrong. So my mom is the person I nominate as my hero.
