Who Is Your Hero?

Your Everyday Hero: Tyra W.

In 2006, after about 3 years of taking care of my son Chance as a single mother, his father finally stepped back into his life. At first it was very difficult to let go and trust that he would be a steady presence in my son's life. Since our separation he had remarried and I was unsure of how my interaction with his new wife would go.

For some women, this situation could be difficult, but in the 3 years that have passed I have nothing but wonderful things to say about my son's step-mother, Tyra. She's like a sister-mom. I am incredibly thankful for her presence in Chance's life. She is an excellent mother. Her presence has allowed me to do things to better myself, through both work and school, because she goes out of her way all the time and is committed to Chance's well-being, health and education.

Tyra is loving, accepting and has been exceptionally nice to me. I'm so blessed by her presence in our lives.
