Your Everyday Hero: Kenneth And Joan B.

About 13 years ago, my mother and father decided to split up. Neither one of them were financially stable or ready to raise four kids by themselves. My grandmother and grandfather so graciously agreed to raise my three siblings along with myself.

For 13+ years now, my grandparents have raised us four kids, and have instilled values in us that will last a lifetime. They have taken us to church and taught us to think of others before ourselves. They didn't raise us for the recognition or to say what great things they have done, they just raised us because they loved us. I now know what it feels like to be loved and to be raised in a stable environment. My grandfather is 75 years old and still gets up at four in the morning to go to work so that we will have food to eat and a house to live in.

My grandparents spent their entire retirement on raising us but said, "It was worth every penny." I am forever thankful for the two angels in my life, my grandparents.
