Your Everyday Hero: Charlie B.

My son is an amazing young man. We brought his paternal grandparents into our home when grandpap was diagnosed with Alzheimers. He and his sisters worked tirelessly to cook and care for the grandparents while I attended school and worked two part time jobs. When he was only 16, his youngest sister was diagnosed with a very serious cancer. Immediately his father, my husband, took off with another woman and my son took on so much responsibility that should not have been his to take on.

Charlie helped and is still helping to care for his sisters. He paid for two semesters of Community College for himself and 3 for his sister. He gave up his chance at an education to help support the family. Now he is helping to care for my father. He is only 24 years old. I want to help him get on with his own life and pray that God will bless him with a wonderful life. Things have been very difficult for him.
