Share A Hero Story NowThis year I was blessed to see many of my students from last year's Advanced Placement English class walk into my room on the first day of school. Last year had been difficult and I had pushed them hard. There were tears throughout the year and many whispers of giving up. I was sure I would not see most of them again. But here they came, books in hand and smiles on faces, ready to challenge themselves once again. People often criticize today's youth as having no focus or of not wanting to work hard. This may be true of some, but it is not the truth about all young adults. My students prove that to me over and over again. So this year, I felt the smile grow on my face as the students from last year entered my room. Not everyone had returned, but many had. Choosing to challenge themselves and refusing to take the easy way out makes them my heroes!
