Melissa G

Melissa is a friend I have known for only a short period of time, but she is someone who has made a tremendous impact on my outlook of the world.

Melissa is a teacher who dedicates so much of her time in and outside of her classroom to brighten the lives of children whose lives are filled with chaos. She is very caring, compassionate and generous in every way possible. Any person who is lucky enough to get to know her will instantly feel the love she generates. She is one of the most inspirational and caring people I have ever met.

Since meeting Melissa and getting to know her better, my attitude has become much more positive, and my outlook on the world much more optimistic. Melissa's enthusiasm for people, and her ability to share the passion she has for doing what is right for people, especially kids, has motivated me to do the same. I am proud to say that she has included my classes in an amazing project designed to make a difference for many school children. My students are incredibly energized by what Melissa has created and we are fortunate to be a part of the MAD (Make a Difference) project.

In addition to all she does for her students, Melissa also spends time in Africa teaching and caring for students there. She is not only an inspirational person to me, but a role model to every young person, especially young women, who need to see what a truly caring, compassionate and wonderful woman is like. The world would be a much better place if more people were like her.

I am proud that Melissa considers me a friend, and excited to help make the wonderful goals and dreams she has planned for her students, and the world, come true. I can honestly say I am a much better person for counting her as a friend, and my hero.
