Your Everyday Hero: Tauna S.

Tauna is one of the best people I may ever know; intelligence, kindness, acceptance, empathy, self-respect, values and tranquility all combine into her wonderful personality. She is only an 11th grader, yet her intellect and general compassion suggest more experience in life than many adults I know. Any stress that she may harbor during the busy days at school never disturbs her content demeanor, which is impressive considering the rigorous advanced schedule she assumes. I am often impressed by her continually kind and accepting nature, and she always tries to lighten someone else's day, even if it is through no more than a sincere smile. She has a steadfast adherence to her beliefs and values due to her unwavering self-respect and dignity, and this acts as a strong motivation for me to stand up for what I believe in. My respect for her grows everyday because of the positive balance with which she lives her life. Tauna is my role-model because she never fails to amaze me with pure virtue; her blend of kindness, intelligence, tolerance, and respect always prove to be an ideal worth striving for.
