Your Everyday Hero: Mary Ann W.

Mary Ann is my sister. She fought cancer off/on for over 23 years. She was told on October 2010 that the cancer was finally gone. Then in November she started falling for no reason...test upon test and found out the cancer was in her spine. She never gave up...she was an inspiration to all she came in contact with. Her last 4 weeks were spent at home with Hospice visiting. She thought only of her family and friends during this time. Mary Ann's last words to me were "I'm sorry Jude" and then she cried. You see Mary Ann was the last sibling of my family...except me. I had already lost 2 brothers and another sister (also cancer) and my mother (last November, cancer). She was ready to go and talked about seeing Jesus and her family. I miss her, but wouldn't bring her back. She gave me a birthday card in December and signed it "We are one"!
