Othella and Bill S

My heroes just happen to be my parents. Mom and Dad have always been there for us kids through the rough times and the good times. My parents were foster parents to many children for over 40 years and have only retired due to the ill health of my mother. During their lifetime, they have brought joy to children who have not seen any and have shown compassion, courage, commitment and caring for everyone they have come into contact with. I only hope that in my lifetime I can become even half the person that my parents have both been. I have been shown a great example and want everyone to know how special these two people really are to me and everyone they know.

Satisfaction and laziness, like oil and water, never come together. Why don't we do our work to the best we can and get the lovely feeling of satisfaction? Your story is really inspiring, thanks.

I am probably considered an old lady, and I have to say that my conclusion about life at this age 69 yrs, is that being productive is the most satisfying thing one does and knowing the perfect way of doing those productive things makes it even more satisfying. So I would conclude that the little old lady may have brought a lot of more happiness to your adult life than you even realize.

Your story is very touching. So often we "think" we're giving but actually "gaining" instead. This only reminds us that out of "giving" we "gain". Either way, our efforts do pay off. Sometimes... double fold. Very well told, Writer. Thanks for reminding us!

Effort is something that doesn't really take a lot out of you. Just the simple things can be appreciated, and patience is really the key to teaching anything.
