Your Everyday Hero: Lydia A.

Lydia is a 17 year old student from RJC. Her parents had passed away when she was 5 and ever since, she had to live with a torturous family that her parents sold her to before they died. Her foster parents raised her unlike a normal daughter. Though they fed her, sheltered her, and managed her needs, they treated her like a servant. In addition, they mistreated and abused her whenever they felt like it, despite her making any mistakes at all. Over the years, Lydia suffered the same nightmare day in and day out. When she was 16, she was thrown out of the house by her foster parents and was forced to live all by herself. She encountered problems socially and financially while on her own. She did not want to have any friends as she knew her problems would affect them as well. She also had to take up part time jobs to manage her daily needs as she was studying at the same time. Fortunately, there were assistance schemes to help her out with her school fees. Lydia did not have any love and care from anyone in her life. She was very independent on her own and was able to endure the pain surrounding her. As of now, her parents agreed to accept her back to live under their roof, but with the condition of her being their servant once again. Lydia had no other option as she had nowhere else to go but them. She had attempted to commit suicide a series of times because of the strong sense of fear that was running throughout her. That is how badly afraid she is towards her foster family. With the life that Lydia has, I admire her for her utmost perseverance and endurance in moving on with her life despite the everyday challenges she faces.
My Hero: LYDIA ANG.
