Your Everyday Hero: Kent P.

My husband is my hero. Back in 2002 he was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. After months in the hospital and several rounds of chemo, he was finally home for good in 2003. He beat the odds - they said he had 90 days to live. He would not give up and pressed on each and every day. His parents say I'm the hero because I motivated him, but he's the hero because he beat the disease and now, after all this time, he has finally started working full-time and is going to school to better his education and get a better-paying job. His motto is "Never give up" and he lives it every day.
