Your Everyday Hero: Rebecca G.

I would like to nominate Rebecca as my hero. Her compassionate nature led her, while still in her teens, to become a care-giver for a family of five developmentally disabled foster children ranging in age from 18 months to 27 years. These individuals each have different levels of disabilities: some have cerebral palsy; others have fetal alcohol syndrome; others have seizure disorders. Rebecca has been attending school to obtain her Associates Degree as a paralegal and hopes to work for a law firm that fights for the rights of those who cannot represent themselves, such as the people she cares for. Recently, she began work at a second job caring for five adult men with varying levels of mental and physical disability. Rebecca juggles two jobs and a full-time class schedule, while maintaining a 4.0 average. Rebecca is my hero, my friend - and my daughter.
