Do you have a personal hero? Tell us about them. It doesn’t have to be perfect to make a difference in someone else’s life.
Share A Hero Story NowMy hero is my Dad! I have always thought of him as such just because he is my Father. I admire him for living his life according to his own hopes and aspirations. At 75 years of age, he still embodies all the compassion and drive that he has possessed his entire life.
Perhaps because I myself have matured I can see many of these traits more clearly now. My Dad is a believer in all that is good. We playfully call him our 'boy scout' as he gives willingly of his time, his money, his knowledge, and his love. 'No' is not a word in his vocabulary.
Maybe he learned to encompass these admirable traits as the youngest of four children. Maybe he learned to value these things as a young man drafted and sent overseas to fight in the Korean War. Or maybe it was when he returned home and met his bride of 51 years!! He may even have developed this capability in his years as a successful business owner. No matter where or how he has earned his wisdom, he remains my hero.
I look up to my dad and pray that my own son can someday be half the man that my dad is.
