Do you have a personal hero? Tell us about them. It doesn’t have to be perfect to make a difference in someone else’s life.
Share A Hero Story NowDayna was born with a rare disease called schizencephaly. This disease has restricted her from walking and talking since she was a baby. Dayna is now 16 and has surpassed her disability beyond anyone's imagination. Her perseverance and character have inspired me as a leader in my school community. For Dayna, there are no limits or boundaries that she can't cross. She has participated in school plays and is very involved in a high school leadership group. In this group, Dayna not only teaches tolerance and hope, she represents it. Even though she cannot talk, she constantly has a voice in her surrounding community. She is a true inspiration to her peers, the school faculty, and members of the community. There is absolutely nothing this young woman wouldn't do for me, her other friends, or anyone who asked for her help. Dayna is my hero because she represents strength and shows me that dreams do come true.
Many people have never met their hero in person. How lucky am I, for my hero is my best friend!
