Your Everyday Hero: Terri C.

My hero is Terri. She is not the typical ‘save the city’ hero that many people talk about. Not many people hear about her because her work is done out of care and love. She works as a social skills trainer. I am one of her clients. She has helped me so much by being there when I need her. When I was suicidal, she stood by my side and was there to talk to me all the way. She was so sincere in her words and I could feel her love. Many young people look up to her and she seems to never let them down. She takes time out of her life to actually help us. Not just tell us, "Oh, life goes on." She actually takes the time to talk to each one of her individual clients and find out what we are interested in, what we need, and how she can best help. She is an awesome hero mostly because she doesn't know that she is awesome. She doesn't get prideful when she helps us. She just earnestly takes her time to give us the time and attention we need. I truly believe that if she wasn't there when I was trying desperately to kill myself, I would be dead. Even to this day I am still struggling, but she never fails to help me. I love her so much.
