Your Everyday Hero: De Anne S.

I first met DeAnne after signing up to volunteer at her clinic. She is the Director of a Doctors' Free Clinic in Utah and has been for seven years. She is one of the most dedicated women I have ever met. She has taken care of over 12,000 patients since the doors opened back in 1999. She never turns anyone down regardless of their wants. It's a difficult job when you are raising a family of four daughters and she does find time for everyone.

I admire her for the non-judgmental manner in which she sees all people, uninsured, homeless, elderly and the very young. Watching her makes me very tired. But, it also encourages me to do better with people less fortunate than myself. She is selfless and very caring. I admire her qualities and attitudes when it comes to helping others out of poverty and making life better for everyone.

I would like to nominate DeAnne and recognize all that she does for so many people in the community. She has no idea just how needed her services are. The clinic is a mainstay now and without her, it might not be the success that it is.
