Do you have a personal hero? Tell us about them. It doesn’t have to be perfect to make a difference in someone else’s life.
Share A Hero Story NowMy dad has been in the Army Reserve for 25 years and he is extremely patriotic. I never understood why my dad wanted to die for his country but he tells me all the time that 'someone has to do it' and that he 'would rather die in battle defending his country and its people than of old age.' To see him put that uniform on every month makes me proud to know that my dad cares enough to die for people who don't know him or maybe who don't even care, but he does. He has never strayed from what the USA is trying to accomplish and never stopped believing that freedom doesn't come free. My mom is another hero who keeps the house under control while my dad is gone. One other thing my dad has taught me is to be grateful for the things I have because not everyone is so blessed to have a house, food, clothes, or even a loving family. In short, he is my hero for not only being a soldier but also for trying his best to always be there for me and to teach me right from wrong and to love my life and what I have. He is a true hero!

I admire any man whose own children consider him a hero.
