Your Everyday Hero: Tim F.

I have known Tim for over 20 years. During our friendship, I was the best man at his wedding and he was in the bridal party at my wedding. We helped each other through our kids' births and late nights. That sounds like a great friend, right? Well, Tim showed me what friendship really is in May 2004. I had an elective surgery that was serious enough that I would need to recuperate for six to eight weeks. I went through the surgery well, but while I was in the recovery room, complications started. I had convulsions; my blood dropped to nil; and my lungs filled with fluid. There was a time that they didn't think I was going to make it.

My friend Tim made sure that I was never alone at the hospital while I was in ICU. He always made sure that my wife and kids were taken care of. While I was recovering at my sister's house, Tim checked on me regularly. And he made sure my family was okay. He is what a true best friend is.
