Do you have a good values-based story to tell? It doesn’t have to be perfect to make a difference in someone else’s life.
Share A Story NowI am 11 years old and I have learned something important. I was at school and we were going to a presentation about a program called Rachel's Challenge. Some of you may have heard of it, and it taught me something. I have realized that we are in a bad state in the world. I had decided, then and there, this will be my life's work. I went to the man presenting the program and told him this; "I will be a message, just like all these people you have told us about today." I want to be a message of kindness and compassion. I want to show the world this. I want to follow Rachel's four rules, and I have added my own. The first four are Rachel's. 1.Treat others the way you want to be treated. 2.Dream big and believe in yourself. 3.Appreciate everyone, mock no one. 4.Practice positive gossip. 5.Be peaceful. 6.Don't let your emotions overpower your will to rise above anger and hate. 7.Be a leader. 8.Follow the fruits of the spirit;Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gratefulness, gentleness and self control. I am passing this on every day this year. The dictionary definition of compassion is sympathy. I believe it is love and peace, and everything written here, because compassion is meant to only have a WANT to be doing something for others. But compassion should be meant to BE doing something for others. Remember this, and never forget the true meaning of compassion, and how it is my life's work.

I also learned about Rachel's Challenge and after I heard about what Rachel had said I realized what I have been doing to others and saying to others. I have changed now and say something to others when they are bullying because I know I wouldn't want to be bullied or have people pick on me. I want the world to become a better place.

Hannah, I am also 11 years old. Your letter inspired me to work on this too; we are indeed living in a bad world right now, and we need more good people like you helping. Thank you so much for sharing this story; it inspired me more than you can imagine. Right now, right here, I am going to help.
