Do you have a good values-based story to tell? It doesn’t have to be perfect to make a difference in someone else’s life.
Share A Story NowBenjamin was the light in everybody's heart even before he was born. We knew he was destined to be great. But suddenly, the world came crashing down around him and everyone else in the early hours of March 5th. A grave mistake by the doctor led him to be brain-dead and oxygen deprived. This caused irreparable brain damage. After being transported to a nearby hospital in downtown Philadelphia, Benjamin was placed in intensive care, but nothing could save him. In eight days, he vanished. But the most incredible part came three days before his death. His parents made the agonizing decision to take him off life support. I personally did not think he could survive for very long, for he was suffering immensely. But before our very eyes, Benjamin defied all odds, and lasted for three days before dying: no food and no water. Most of us would be complaining if we went without a snack for two hours. In addition, he was breathing on his own, something which had been supported by a respirator. He was a true lion heart. When I heard of this, I was shaken to the core of my heart. I was inspired to persevere and work till the task was accomplished, regardless of any roadblocks. I was brought to make my way through the bushes despite the thorns; to wade through the ocean when no one would part it for me. I hope his story will continue to inspire others to do the same.

That is very inspiring and motivational. I give you sympathy and love for enduring such a situation. I cannot even begin to imagine how I would react to this situation. I give you props for being strong and for carrying on. It takes a lot of strength to lose a child. I'll never forget you or his story!
