At my high school, Dublin High in California, the cheer leading team of over 70 girls adopted a beautiful person onto the Varsity team. Rachel Cooperstein, age 19 and a senior with Down Syndrome, was the spirit and heart of our school. The cheerleaders also got her nominated for Homecoming Queen, and she won. She was walked down the field arm in arm with her brother Jared, looking beautiful as ever. Rachel, along with the rest of the audience, burst into happy tears as she revealed a red rose in her hand and the crown was placed on her head. Rachel, you are an inspiration to us all, we love you! This video is of Rachel being crowned 2010 Homecoming Queen!!
