I love this story! Something similar has happened to me before, but it was during a basketball game.

My Friend's Determination

My best friend is Ellice T. Without her determination, she would probably still be studying at a primary school. She's in secondary school this year and it is because of her determination. She used to be a rebel; never listening to her parents and never bothering to finish her homework. Last year as her exam to pass primary school was approaching, she couldn't care less. But with support and encouragement from me and all her good friends, she actually studied for her exam. Everyone was amazed by her decision to study. I once ask her why she decided to study for her exams, and her answer changed my mind about not studying hard.

“I may look weak but in reality I'm strong. We all have an ability and talents to use in our lives; and I just haven't bothered to use my abilities.” I ask her what ability was that? She stared at me and smiled. “Determination” she said.

Her determination to work hard enough got her into a secondary academy. I really admire her determination and she has changed my attitude towards hard work.
