Blass you. Your act of kindness blessed someone who could have been you or me.

When I heard the doorbell ring, I went promptly to the door. As I opened it I saw a young man, about 24 years of age, standing there quietly. His first words were 'Good evening ma'am. All I'm asking for is bread.' As I reached for my purse, he insisted he truly did want food. It was then I knew he was hungry.

I went into the kitchen and packed him a parcel with sliced and buttered bread, cheese, milk, apples and bananas. I also gave him money. He thanked me over and over.

When we sat down to dinner my husband asked me who had been at the door. Trying so hard to hold back the tears, I burst out crying. My husband asked me what had happened, and I then told him: A man came to the door and he had nothing. I packed him a parcel of food. I will never forget the look in that young man's eyes when I handed him the parcel.
