This story is about RESPECT

Grandma Anna

"Pa, I don't want to get married yet". These were the words of my Grandma Anna in the summer of 1904. She was 19 and was to marry Tom . Her pa would give them some land, a cow and some chickens and everything would be alright. They were married at St. Joseph's Church in Browerville, Minnesota. After 65 years of marriage and eight children, one of which was my dad, Grandpa passed on to heaven. Why Anna said " Yes, Pa, I'll marry" and stayed married and raised the children to love each other and to love family, perhaps was that Grandma Anna had love in the form of respect. She had respect for her Pa's wishes. She had respect for Grandpa, and he had respect for Grandma. This respect was passed on to me by my dad. That on that wedding day, July 19, 1904 , our love of family started through respect for each other, and working and caring for others. Our family and many families in that Minnesota small town built not only a town and a church , they built families with love and respect.
