Mile Friday

It was Friday and it was time to run our mile. Once we stepped on the track I could feel the breeze passing through my face,it was about 32 degrees outside. It was time to run and once the stopwatch started, I sprinted the first lap. Usually I was the second one to finish, but that day I didn't realize that would all change. I was slowing down and the girl who would always finish first was right behind me. I was on my third lap and I was really tired, but this time I wasn't going to let her pass me. I knew I was capable of finishing first, so when I was on my last lap I sprinted for my life and got the best time and also finished first. Now that I know I'm able to finish first, every time I run my mile I think about the time I didn't give up, and finish first all the time.
