Do you have a good values-based story to tell? It doesn’t have to be perfect to make a difference in someone else’s life.
Share A Story NowMy sister had failed out of school and was making very unwise decisions with her life. She chose to spend her time with people who were lost as she was. They all chose to ignore their responsibilities and supported one another in a life which involved drinking and partying. Sadly, they were all losing time. They were young and had the potential to become whatever they wanted if they would only choose to respect themselves and believe in a better life.
My sister was lost but my father never gave up on her. She may not have even known it but his prayers and faith in her may have been the very thing she needed.
I remember sitting at the family dinner table where everyone had gathered except my sister. Once again she had chosen to drink with friends instead of spending an evening with our family who loved her very much. We all said she would not come. But my father said she would. We all rallied against him, betting she would not show and asked why he would say that. We were convinced he was in denial. He simply said, "I will always bet on her, on all of you."
She did not show up that night but today she is a beautiful mother to a baby girl and has another on the way. She is a loving and responsible mother, wife and teacher. I always remember that night. I believe our father's bet on all of us was the greatest gift we never knew we received.

Very touching story. I think she would not have succeeded in her life as a mother and as a teacher if she did not have a faher who believed in her.

This story has touched me because there are similarities with my own family story. In my family I was the black sheep and I never showed up at family events. I think people who are black sheep's merely don't show up because they are irresponsible or don't like their folks. They just have a feeling of not fitting in and the best you can do is accepting they're different because you also want to be accepted for who you are. Last week I met a girl who also is the black sheep in her family. And these shared feelings have the effect that we understand each other well. Now it makes sense that I was the black sheep. All the pain. It helped me meeting this girl and being able to understand her. Somehow everything is in equilibrium.

Wow. When you think that your parents don't care about you because they yell at you that's when they care about you the most.

Love is the bond of undying force from parents to their children mixed with faith for the glorious future that they expect. Love, patience, and faith work wonders.

When two hearts beat as one when two minds think as one they can overcome any obstacle and always stay together for there's no greater feeling in this world then loving somebody when they love you back.

Faith really pays! As somebody said, "faith can move mountains" is really true. Doors that never seem to exist open. This story is a live example.

A great and humble scene. Reminds me of the story of The Prodigal Son. Children are just so precious to their parents no matter what.

The love of parents for their children knows no bounds. And when it is enhanced by faith
it seems to have a power of its own to fulfill the loving vision parents have for their
loved ones.
