Today a representative came to talk to my school about Rachel Scott. She was a great person who died in the horrific Columbine High School tragedy. The assembly was inspiring and really moved me.
Before the day of the assembly, I had been trying to better myself by simply being kind to others. After the assembly, I got the idea of just saying thanks to the wonderful staff at my high school.
So, starting tomorrow, I will be putting a little piece of paper into all their mailboxes each day. The notes will say "thank you" and will show them that they are appreciated. I can't wait to start! I am committed to doing this for the rest of my senior year.Share Your Own Personal Story
Pass It On
I know that I am the type of person that gets all teary eyed when people thank me for a kindness or a job well done. I think I am this way for two reasons-first it seems to happen more and more rarely as people get caught up in their own lives and forget the little kindnesses. And second, it reminds me that I matter and I need to show others that they matter as well.

I too saw the Rachel's Challenge presentation and was moved. My challenge is to bring this presentation to every school in our school district. Rachel is watching and she is proud of you for hearing her message and for making a promise to make a difference through random acts of kindness.

I will take it to heart.

That's going to be a lot of paper! But yeah, it's a great idea :)

Sometimes the best gratitude we can receive is the gift of thanks. Don't ever forget to tell this to everyone who deserves it in your life!

Kindness emanates from a merry heart that does good like a medicine and it becomes a wellspring of life to them that have and receive it. Do not relent in your kindness.

That is a very good showing of gratitude. Please continue!

I think one of the greatest rewards we may get through our life is "thank you" so thank you for what you wrote.

Great idea. Do it today, don't wait for tomorrow. People young and old love to hear that.
That is a great idea! I think that everyone's lives and the entire world would be a whole lot better if we all just took the time to be kind. Maybe give a smile to someone sad, or compliment someone who is feeling insecure. It takes ten seconds, but betters us in many ways. :]
