Do you have a good values-based story to tell? It doesn’t have to be perfect to make a difference in someone else’s life.
Share A Story NowI volunteered with the Challenger League, a baseball team for young adults with physical disabilities. One day, a young man hit a home run and we ran around the bases - nothing unusual. However, it was unusually quiet in the stands. Later, I was told that this young man was autistic and didn't like people touching him. He often became violent and was committed in the past because of this. His mother cried, telling me that she'd never seen him so happy and content. She thanked me for reaching out. I realized in that moment that it isn't the grand acts that are important, it's the little ones that mean the most. For one young man and his family, that was the world.
