Do you have a good values-based story to tell? It doesn’t have to be perfect to make a difference in someone else’s life.
Share A Story NowI was a drunk for 17 years of my life. I was crying at a party once about how no one loves me and I always feel alone (I was drunk of course). A friend of mine leaned over and, despite the fact that I was in tears, told me, "A lot of people care about you Stephanie...you are just too drunk to see them."
I didn't get sober for many years after that, but I always remembered those words from a guy that had no knowledge that those words would ever be one of my tools for quitting. But he knew that the words were true so he said them to me.
It is really difficult to tell someone the absolute truth but if you can see something that they can't, take a deep breath and with total kindness, just tell them. You may never know how your words will help them, but somewhere down the line... I am convinced they will.

That is so totally true. When you are drunk all the time you are not noticing anything around you but what you see, and your vision is constantly blurred, so you have a distorted image of everyone and everything. I am glad to here you recovered and bettered yourself. You go girl!
