FREEDOM FROM SELF TOARMENT IS FREEDOM WHAT WAS TRUELY HOW ONE'SSELF IS MENT TO BE~
STUART D MAYES, LOUISVILLE KY

My hero: In 1955, Mr. Jim Huxel, the Principal of my school, pulled me out of the classroom and into his office wherein he gave me swats with a wood panel. I asked him Why me. There were other kids goofing around. Why did you pull only me out of the class. He said, "Because you are smart, you have talent, you can make it - I care about you. Stop goofing around and apply yourself and you will be successful. I walked out of his office with a very sore butt however, I felt fantastic. Someone cares about me, someone thinks I have talent. Ï can do it - Mr. Huxel said so --- and he was right. Bob Rice

I don't see that achievement is the word success. sometimes things are no longer achievable. Achievement is a hope for me. To continue doing things even though it looks not achievable in time but still there's hope, its still success and achievement. It transcends the mere evidences in life.
peport p., philippines

Think positive to achieve everything! Always start the day with a smile and do what are the things that will make you happy! Achievements are best cherished if you don't hit anything, just be humble and achieve what you want...
Ernest Alfred C. Burgos, Philippines

Now THIS is what I'm talking about! Even though rationality isn't even on the list, this is the next best thing and I'm glad to see it in the top ten.
Eric, Arlington, Texas

I try to do my best to steer young people in the right direction. Some of them don't want to even hear what I am trying to tell them so I go to others and am happy if one of them listens. I would be a happy camper if I could reach more young people.
Patricia Green, Ferriday,La.

I am planning for the senior year of my middle child Jordyn. Jordy is a 3.985 gpa twenty first century scholar student and a 4 year track athlete as well. She will graduate this May with high academic honors diploma from sullivan high school and go to Franklin or Grace college in the fall. What an achievement Thank you Lord for mercy and grace everyday for her and my other two teenage children.

I acheived alot of things over the past month! YAY! :)
Mitchell Simpson, Norway House,Manitoba

In Maaori, the native tongue of New Zealand, the word for values is 'pumanawa'. Pu = centre, core, cause, stump, heart, foundation. Manawa = heart. As you know, we all live out of our values, whether good or bad. Those that are contrary to being 'tika' or 'true', manifest through emotional pain and destructive behaviours. These values are sown into us at an early age and eventually bear fruit. The fruit tree is an excellent picture of this. As David Riddell (top counsellor and creator of the 'School of Living Wisdom') says, if we don't check the foundations, we cannot affect the repairs. Noho ora mai
