Your Everyday Hero: Donald D.

Don is my hero not only for the courage and faith demonstrated while he was dying of cancer, but more for the courage and faith demonstrated by his service to the Lord. He gave his all - serving the people of Haiti. He established a 24/7 emergency medical clinic treating burns, a food program feeding over 5,000 people a week, he built homes (for free to them) and put over 100 families into their own homes over the years as well as building new marketplaces in seven villages in the North of Haiti. He was a loving, caring husband, father and member of his community. Don's love touched so many, but especially me, his wife, for the 35 years we shared together.
