Share A Hero Story NowI want to nominate my friend Jillian. A few years ago, Jillian overcame her battle with cancer. Since then, she has been on a mission to help others using her skills and gifts as an athlete.
Jillian was a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and Wing Chun before she got sick, but after she got well, Jillian began training in boxing and wrestling. At age 44, she still trains and competes, but she also helps others. Jillian started a fitness and health program to teach others how to stay fit and healthy through holistic nutrition, herbs and natural supplements. She also teaches self-defense to females, and has a special program for those females who have been victims of sexual assault, rape or domestic violence.
Now, Jillian is training to compete in several fitness events, including running marathons and holding self-defense seminars across the country, in order to raise $2 million for various cancer charities. She just launched T-shirt sales with partial proceeds being donated to charity.
Jillian puts her heart, soul and body on the line to reach out and teach others through her example of compassion, hard work and dedication to people.
