Amazing. While there are few details given, I can only imagine the realities of working in Darfur. Mr. Nsubagu probably deserves nominating too.

Your Everyday Hero: Nsubagu R.

I am a Sudan national working with African Union Mission in the Sudan. I would like to recommend to you Mr. R., Seniour Humanitarian Affairs Officer. He has displayed courage, determination, compassion and character towards local staff. R. came to the mission in October 2004 and was deployed in Darfur from October 2004 to August 2005.
Darfur was not easy to live in, but he has endured it all. He has lived a life of example and sacrifice, at times preferring to walk rather than moving around in air conditioned Mission vehicles, despite the harsh temperatures. He will be returning to his home country, Uganda, in late December 2006. The IDPs and we the Local Staff of AMIS will miss him.
