Your Everyday Hero: Michael L.

My son Michael is 7. At 3 years old, he could only talk in vowels and was a little different. His preschool suggested we send him elsewhere. At 4 1/2 he was diagnosed with autism. Through lots of his hard work, and his dedicated teachers and therapists, he is now fully mainstreamed in 2nd grade. He was just invited to the school's Gifted & Talented program. He still has autism. Always will. But he is a testament to hard work and early intervention.
