Your Everyday Hero: Susan M.

I met Susan through her now deceased husband, Art. Art was severely physically disabled from polio early in life. He was never psychologically disabled thanks to the love of Susan and wonderful parents who raised him like a poss-ability not a dis-ability. I worked with Art and Susan through their organization. Art was an empowerment coach, teaching people with all kinds of challenging circumstances to live life superior to conditions that often can provoke us to succumb to the ultimate dis-ability, "I can't." Art trained thousands of people in "I can" by his example and through professionally conducted workshops.

Susan married Art for his total being and commitment to humanity. I know her to be a person whose dedication to service is of "royal" caliber. She is currently completing a book which Art wrote about his childhood years. I believe this book will be a "lighthouse beam" for all persons living with any kind of serious physical, mental or emotional challenge. Susan is a hero for me. She has lived a life of love, dedication and service in most extraordinary fashion. Thank you Susan.
