Your Everyday Hero: Unknown

Several years ago, each Christmas season, the Salvation Army would get something extra in their donation bucket near where I live. Someone would drop a one hundred bill with a dollar bill rubber cemented on each side to disguise it, ensuring that he would be able to remain anonymous.

One Christmas season, the traditional masked C note did not turn up, then - as if in apology - TWO of them were dropped into the collection bucket. The donor went to some trouble to keep anonymous, ensuring that his good deed would be known but to God.

That is the closest thing to a selfless act that I can think of.
